Orca Intelligence Leads Jamaica Agricultural Innovation & Trade Mission to Advance Sustainable Agriculture, Technology Integration, and Economic Development
WASHINGTON, D.C. & KINGSTON, JAMAICA | September 16, 2026 – Melissa Daley, CEO of Orca Intelligence, announced the successful planning and execution of the Jamaica Agricultural Innovation & Trade Mission 2026, a high-level delegation focused on strengthening agricultural innovation, technology adoption, research partnerships, and sustainable economic development throughout Jamaica. The mission took place March 25 through April 1, 2026, spanning Montego Bay, Kingston, St. Andrew, St. Thomas, and St. Elizabeth.
Hosted by Melissa Daley of Orca Intelligence, Yusuf Henriques of Indygeneus Bio, Colin Frasier of From Grass to Grace, and Nicola Shirley‑Phillips of Source Farm Foundation, the mission brought together leaders from technology, agribusiness, research institutions, economic development organizations, and community-based agriculture initiatives to explore new pathways for collaboration and investment.
The mission was designed to build a sustainable, island-wide farmer network, strengthen agricultural supply chains, and foster strategic partnerships across government, academia, biotechnology, agritech, and community development sectors. Delegates engaged with stakeholders across Jamaica to identify opportunities for technology transfer, export development, regenerative farming practices, and research collaboration.
Key activities included meetings with government and economic development organizations in Kingston, engagement with Jamaica Tea Ltd., immersive working sessions at Source Farm in St. Thomas, visits to productive farming regions in St. Elizabeth, and strategic business development discussions in Montego Bay focused on distribution, export readiness, and investment opportunities.

Mission participants represented organizations spanning technology, biotechnology, agribusiness, logistics, food processing, and academic research, including collaborations with the University of Florida Global Food Systems Institute, Indygeneus Bio, Source Farm Foundation, From Grass to Grace, Upling, The Fresh Food Factory, and other public and private-sector partners.
Expected outcomes from the mission included the development of new trade and investment pathways, strengthened public-private partnerships, a co-designed farmer network model for Jamaica, expanded opportunities for agritourism and sustainable land development, and enhanced technology and research collaborations to support the country's agricultural future.
