FAQs

What is Permaculture?

Permaculture is a practical approach to designing farms, gardens, homes, and communities that work with nature rather than against it. It begins with observing local conditions, including soil, water, sunlight, plants, animals, and people, then using those insights to create systems that are productive, resilient, and easier to maintain.

At its heart are three ethics: care for the Earth, care for people, and fair sharing of resources. These ideas guide practical skills such as building healthy soil, conserving water, growing food, reducing waste, and strengthening community resilience. Permaculture is not a single technique or fixed blueprint. It is a design process that helps people create sustainable solutions suited to their place and needs.
