Educare DC is an accredited Head Start provider in Washington, DC that provides high quality education and care to children ages 3-5.

The Challenge

Educare DC sought an innovative solution to track Pre-K learners in their program and throughout the district with a game based assessment.

The Solution

In their search for a modern, impactful digital education tool, Educare DC partnered with Orca Intelligence, a leader in digital transformation and solutions architecture for public sector organizations. Together, they co-designed AdventureTown DC—an interactive, video-based learning platform tailored to local early learning standards and featuring real-world locations across Washington, DC. AdventureTown DC empowers educators to track student progress, identify trends in engagement, and adapt instruction accordingly, while offering children an immersive, gamified environment that makes learning both fun and memorable.

The Results

Following three rounds of user texting with 40 students in each round, AdventureTown DC was launched for students and parents to use at home. Out of the students in this group, 55% participated in the platform, and half of these students returned for multiple learning sessions, demonstrating repeat engagement. 15% of students achieved high scores, reflecting both mastery of key concepts and the platform’s ability to support differentiated learning. By integrating AdventureTown DC, Educare DC not only enhances student participation and learning outcomes but also equips educators with actionable data to inform instruction and foster continuous improvement in early education.
